The two neighbors north korea and south korea are two very different states in the types of military they have. They are two states that are affected from the cold war after the korean war. It Involved many powers like the US and China, etc. In this time and age war may erupt again resulting in the second korean war, with many articles talking about that. Today I will talk about the powers of north and south korea.
North korea has a very large military, fourth in the world with about 1,000,000 active personal and about 5,000,000 paramilitary, from the wikipedia sources. Although, this may seem powerful to a smaller country, the north korean military is poorly equipped with weapons department. Not only the military is unarmed but the armor that they have like SPGs and tanks are outdated and and can hardly keep pace with the modern world.
Although the North koreans might seem like they can invade and win the war they cannot attack immediately. The south koreans are reliant on the US, which makes north korea think the south korean army is a pushover. This is the opposite actually because the south korean military is equipped with the most advanced tech as of right now, with SPGs and really powerful tanks coped with a great air force. Even if the US doesn’t even participate in the event of a war, the south koreans with put up a good adversary against the north koreans. However the south koreans do not have an edge against the north koreans edge in missile tech and in the event the north korean missile attack the south koreans would be vulnerable to attack.
The two countries are powerful, by themselves. They would both put up a good fight and they would not back down until, either one of them is completely destroyed and one has taken over another. But, the North koreans would have overwhelming numbers of troops on the scale of about a million to 100k. If they attack with their armor, the South koreans would have an extreme advantage in the armor department.

Overall, the two countries are very different but if the “second Korean” war were to occur, the south koreans would probably win against the north koreans. Although the two countries seem powerful in the a basic sense they are very different starting from troops, armor, air force and etc. the North Koreans would have an advantage in the troop area, and that could be their ace card. And the South Korean’s ace card could be the United States.
